It was a pleasure to welcome back a number of Old Wellensians last night for our annual Careers Fair, where pupils had the opportunity to hear first-hand about a wide range of professions and career journeys.
We were particularly proud to see so many OWs giving their time to support current pupils. Kim Foster (2013), now Director of Music, spoke about her pathway into education and the music industry, while Becky Stott (2005) shared insights from her work as a Large Animal Veterinarian. Robert Powell (1981), a local business owner, reflected on his experience in retail and entrepreneurship, offering practical advice on resilience and adaptability.
From the property sector, Poppy Martin (2010), a Chartered Surveyor, discussed routes into surveying and the variety within the profession. Sophie Pearn (1997), Acting Head of Innovation & Transformation Legal at Lloyds Banking Group, gave a fascinating overview of her career in law and the evolving role of innovation within the legal sector.
The evening was a valuable opportunity for pupils to ask questions, make connections and explore future possibilities. We are extremely grateful to all our visiting professionals, and especially to our OW community, whose willingness to return and share their experiences continues to inspire the next generation.
