We are thrilled to let all OWs know that Philip Dutton OW 2011 has a piece of orchestral work 'There, where I call home' premiering this evening. The piece has been commissioned by BBC Radio 3 and will be conducted by Ryan Wigglesworth. Find out more here
Philip, a former Royal Philharmonic Society Young Composer, finds inspiration in Janáček, Lutosławski and Messiaen: “My music aims to express my love of storytelling and curiosity in a vivid and direct way.”
Congratulations Philip, what an achievement!
In the same programme, Imogen Cooper will be playing Mozart’s poetic final piano concerto. Coincidentally, Imogen visited Wells Cathedral School just last week as part of our Maestro series. Click here to read about her visit.
