Recently OW Meggie Murphy (2019) returned to School to join over 50 trombonists aged from 7 to 70 years old from all over the country for a day of ensemble playing, masterclasses and concerts in collaboration with the British Trombone Society.  Guest tutors included Principal Trombone of the CBSO, Richard Watkin, and Principal Trombone of the BBC Concert Orchestra, Matthew Lewis, alongside the Trombone Department of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

Representing the home trombone team alongside Meggie was Wells trombone teacher Tom Lees.  A great day was had by all, culminating in a spectacular rendition of Soul Bossa Nova (aka Austin Powers theme tune!).
