It has been great to hear that OW cellist Willard Carter (2020) is doing well and performing concerts, perfect of you are free and in the area on these darker winter days and evenings. Full details and locations can be found on his website linked here.
Born in 2002, Willard came to WCS as a chorister at the age of 8 which proved a pivotal moment in his artistic development. In 2013 he moved to the Purcell School in Manchester and from there he joined the junior department of the Royal College of Music before going on to the Queen Sofia School of Music in Madrid in 2018.
Since then, his studies have taken him to Berlin, Switzerland, Italy, and France. Along the way he has gathered prizes in competitions and performed at festivals in Britain, Europe, and America. His performance at Buckingham Palace in May 2019, led to him becoming a Classic FM Rising Star. A talent to keep an eye on!
