A Celebration of all things Bach - Tuesday 6th February 2024. 

If there is one composer whose music can truly claim to be universal, it is Johann Sebastian Bach. In this unique celebration of all things Bach, musicians young and old from Wells Cathedral School, the Cathedral Choir and special guests will join with musicians from across the community to stage a whole day of Bach performances installed in the awe-inspiring spaces of Wells Cathedral. From Brandeburg Concertos in the Nave, keyboard preludes and fugues, solo violins in the Chapter House, a choral motet at the heart of Evensong, brass fanfares, the grand organ works, trio sonatas, chorales and possibly even some jazz,  Bach Day will be an unforgettable musical journey!

We are looking for singers and instrumentalists to join us in Bach Through the Seasons. This early afternoon extravaganza will feature a selection of many of his most popular works, in a programme curated especially for Bach Day. Rehearsals will take place from 11am to 1pm, with the performance in the Cathedral at 2.15pm. This event is open to all abilities, all voice types, and all instruments.
