We were delighted to see a number of Old Wellensians taking part in celebrations for the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
James Buckle, bass trombone (2011), Zoë Tweed, horn (2017), and Annabell-Sophie Meare, violin (1994) were part of the King's Coronation service in Westminster Abbey on Saturday 6 May.
Brass players Lucy Burch (2004) and Lizzi Tocknell (2012) were with the Coldstream Guards and the RAF regiment, respectively, while Andrew Humphreys (2008) was in the concert at Windsor.
Finally the Senior School Cathedral address on Monday 8 May considered the very real possibility that the core elements of the Coronation Service were devised by Dunstan in AD 973 who may well have been one of the first pupils educated at Wells Cathedral School.
