We were excited to hear that Gerard Flotats (2019) has won the Royal Over-Seas League Strings Competition. Having left Wells to continue his Cello studies at the Royal Academy of Music as an ABRSM scholar Gerard is also the principal cellist of the European Youth Orchestra.

His win means that he will be competing in the Gold Medal final in Wigmore Hall in June and he will also be joining the Philip and Dorothy Green Young Artists scheme, which will give him performance opportunities in the future.
