Our annual Old Wellensian Reunion was held at the RAF Club in London with a dinner reception and a three-course meal. Open to all Old Wellensians, it was a special five-year reunion for our 2016 and 2017 leavers in particular.
Nearly one hundred OWs attended the event. They were joined by former and present members of staff including the Head Master Alastair Tighe, Jack Coward, Ken Padgett, Jeremy Boot, Alwyn Gillen and Andy Kemp. It was a particular pleasure to catch up with the 2016 and 2017 cohorts, all of whom are at the start of their careers. It was so heartening to see the sheer variety of occupations they are all following, demonstrating the true breadth of a Wells education! Film and media, actuarial work, teaching, music performance, engineering, consultancy and post-graduate courses were just some of the pathways some of our most recent alumni are now pursuing.
It was wonderful to be able to resume our London reunions after the hiatus caused by Covid. We regularly hold reunions to keep in touch with our Old Wellensians; the next event will be the Reunion in Wells in June.
