Patrick Alley (1974) has been in touch to let us know that his first book, Very Bad People, will be launched on 17th March 2022. It describes the co-founding of what has become an influential, Nobel-Prize nominated investigative environmental, human rights, and anti-corruption organisation, Global Witness.

Best-selling author Isabella Tree has said of the book:

‘Very Bad People would be a hugely enjoyable thriller if it wasn’t all true. What Patrick Alley reveals, with the forensic skill of a surgeon removing cancerous tumours, is mind-blowing – webs of corruption that reach across the globe and into our own trusted companies and institutions. At the heart of this galloping chase to pin down the bad guys is the fundamental truth that corruption is the primary driver of wars and environmental destruction. Our hopes for the future, for world peace, human rights, a stable climate, sustainable natural resources, rely on rooting out corruption at its very core. Thank heavens there are Very Good People like Patrick Alley and his astonishingly courageous colleagues doing just that.’
