In February 2021, Issy Morgan (OW 2011) and fellow musician Megan Linnell decided to create a video podcast called 'Keeping the arts alive one chat at a time'. Each week they chat with a range of creatives, including classical musicians, jazz musicians, actors, West-End performers, and many more, with an aim to keep the creative industries alive during a time that has been so challenging for artists. This project has enabled them to chat with some amazing people. Issy said 'we have been so inspired by what they have all achieved, even in the midst of a lockdown. We have just finished recording Season 1, which includes two Old Wellensians, and are currently booking our next 10 guests for Season 2'.
Issy and Meg first met whilst studying at Trinity Laban for their undergraduate degrees in classical singing. Although they were on the classical course, they were keen to build relationships with musicians and dancers from all departments. As a result of this, it was important to them that all genres and disciplines were represented in their podcast.
Alongside this project, Issy (OW 2011) is currently doing her Masters at the Royal Academy of Music and Megan has recently released an EP 'Undiscovered Rays' and is continuing to build up her singing teaching practise.
