We have been delighted by the support of Old Wellensians who have contributed to our current Webinar Series for Upper Sixth pupils which includes academic lectures, workshops, presentations and advice on transitioning to Higher Education as well as links to useful online resources and MOOCs.
In the absence of actual A Level exams this Term, the School is committed to providing pupils with the best preparation it can, albeit on a virtual platform, for the transition to Higher Education and life beyond school in general. Assistant Head of Sixth Form (Upper Sixth and Ritchie House), Julia Bird, and colleagues have put together a programme to which the Old Wellensian community in particular have been incredibly generous in offering their time and expertise for the “life skills” sessions. These include 'Life at University and Music College', 'Entrepreneurship' and 'Work and Studying Abroad'. Our thanks to the following OWs who have all generously given their time:
Kevin Richardson (1976), Tom Wright (1974), Sarah Faye (1991), Alastair MacCartney (1992), Philip Keith (2001), Fleur Chalmers (2004), Bernice Ooi (2004), Francesca Smith (2012), Rachel Garty (2014), Gabriel Whitehead (2014), Alice Obradovic (2015), Finn Lacey (2016), Tara Williams (2016), Meghan Shepherd (2017), Cian Ducrot (2017), Darcie Jago (2018), Raphael Papo (2018), Elli Kappeler (2018), Sam Pritchard (2019), Crystal Li (2019).
