We're delighted to share that Nick Pickles (OW 1968, Head Boy and Captain of Teams) has kindly offered to host a gathering for Old Wellies at his picturesque cliff-top garden in June.
Set just yards away from the South West Coast Path, Nick’s garden, which is dedicated to his late wife, Jane, is part of the National Garden Scheme for the 5th year. The garden is recognised for its stunning views over the beach and headland. It has a very interesting mix of features, different rockeries and a strong focus on succulents, ferns and herbaceous plants.
Whether you are local to Cornwall or Devon, or fancy making a trip to the coast, we would love you to join us for a relaxed morning in this beautiful location.
Outline Schedule:
10.30am - Meet
10.45am - Beach and/or cliff walk or if you'd prefer, simply enjoy the spectacular views over the garden, beach, headland and sea.
12.00pm - Guided Garden/Greenhouse walk by Nick
12.45pm - Light lunch - scones, cakes, sandwiches and biscuits all home-baked.
Additional details:
Well-behaved dogs are encouraged!
You are welcome to arrive earlier or stay on afterwards to make the most of the beach and the surrounding coastline.
Nick has very generously offered to host this gathering, so there is no charge to attend; however, he would instead like to suggest that a donation be made to the WCS Foundation to support School priorities, which can be done when booking your place.
