School Prints

Wells Cathedral School Foundation has been fortunate to acquire the remaining prints produced during the 1980s and 1990s from original pencil drawings and watercolours by Mick Ewins. The originals form part of Wells Cathedral School's art collection and currently hang in the bursary. Ewins was a member of the Society of Architectural Illustrators specialising in drawings of architecturally and historically significant buildings. During the 1980s he produced a series of drawings depicting famous English schools and Oxbridge colleges which accurately captured the buildings with warmth and sensitivity.

Two colour prints are available depicting Cedars House from the East Liberty and Vicars' Close looking down towards Vicars' Hall. Each print measures approximately 32cm x 22.5cm and includes an ivory bevel-cut mount. They were produced in a limited print run of 300 and each is individually signed and numbered by the artist.

Three prints made from Ewin's original pencil drawings, c.29cm x 22.5cms again feature Cedars House and two views of Vicars' Close; one looking up towards the chapel. Also originally produced in a limited print run of 300 and signed and numbered by the artist, these are enclosed in dark grey mounts.
